Episode 17 – Vets2Refs Kickoff!

Vets to Refs is a nonprofit organization that helps veterans and first responders become licensed sports officials. They cover license fees and provide necessary equipment. The officiating community is described as a tight-knit team that offers camaraderie and lifelong connections. Transitioning out of the military can be challenging, and Vets to Refs provides an opportunity for veterans and first responders to be part of a supportive community. Involvement in sports as officials also helps them interact in a healthy social setting and contribute to their communities. Supporting Vets to Refs not only benefits veterans and first responders but also helps alleviate the shortage of officials for youth and high school games.
